Constitution
A Congregational Meeting to adopt the new constitution is set for June 22nd immediately following worship.
Here is a copy of the constitution for review.
The following were approved by the congregation on Nov 11, 2007
Vision Statement
Living Word: Caring for all people by boldly sharing God’s love throughout the community.
Guiding Principles
We follow Jesus, the Living Word of God.
God makes a difference in everyone’s lives.
God's Word is alive FOR us and THROUGH us.
The Holy Spirit works through us so we can do God's work in the world.
Welcome Statement
Living in the Word that declares God Creator of ALL,
that announces Jesus’ gracious coming for ALL,
that promises the Spirit will be poured out on ALL,
we invite ALL to worship with us in God’s loving presence.
All means ALL!
All races, all national backgrounds,
all economic levels, all educational levels,
all gender identities, all sexual orientations,
all political leanings, all differently-abled people in mind and in body,
all who are wise and all who are confused,
all who live here and all who are passing through,
all who are religious and all who are seeking,
all who are far off and all who are near,
all who have found love and all who have lost it,
all who are settled and all who are questioning,
all who celebrate this welcome statement and all who fear it,
all who desire to be reconciled in Christ’s love.
ALL are welcome in this place!

Pastor Lori Ruge-Jones began her ministry at Living Word on November 15, 2006.
A graduate of Luther Northwestern Theological Seminary in St. Paul, MN, she was ordained in 1994 and has served congregations in Wisconsin and Texas.
She is an energetic and creative worship leader, and particularly enjoys telling the stories of the Bible by heart for worship and spiritual growth.
Pastor Lori speaks Spanish, and embraces our vision that this congregation be multicultural, serving all of God’s people in the Buda/Kyle area.
She has been a pastor since 1994,
including several years in campus ministry at Texas Lutheran University.
She has experience and passion for working with young adults,
and implementing a variety of approaches to worship services and Bible study.
Pastor Lori lives in San Marcos with her husband Phil, their children Luisa and Luke, and their dogs, Molly and Gus.
Installation of Pastor Lori occurred on Dec 17th, 2006 with several visiting clergy and a full sanctuary.
